The National Directory of Residential Rehab Services Scotland (NDRRSS) is keen to ensure that any information collected is managed in line with the requirements of data protection laws. We have outlined more detail on this below.

What we do with information we collect from you when you contact us

You may have contacted us through one of our online contact forms because you have a question, a concern, or wish to add or update a rehabilitation service provider. We may collect your name, email address and any other personal data contained in your message.

We will only use your contact details to respond to you.

Lawful basis for processing

To ensure that we handle all personal information legally we seek to ensure:

  • Your consent is given before we store any optional (eg analytics) cookies on your device.
  • It is clear in form submissions why we are requesting certain information.

How long do we keep your personal data?

We only keep your personal information for the minimum amount of time necessary. Once our correspondence with you has ended, we will retain a record for 12 months.

Who do we share your information with?

Your information will be accessed by our staff who need to do so. We will not share this information with third parties unless we have informed you and we have a lawful basis to do so.

We do not transfer personal data outside either the UK or the European Economic Area (EEA).

Your data protection rights

Data protection law gives you certain rights that you may exercise in respect of your own personal information. You have the right to:

  • Be informed about what data is collected and why.
  • Request a copy of personal information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to update that information if you believe that the data is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.
  • Ask that we stop or restrict the processing of your information in certain circumstances.
  • Object to processing in certain circumstances.
  • Complain to the Information Commissioner.

Your right to complain

If you have concerns about how we handle your personal data, please contact us using the Website support contact form and we will look into the concerns you have raised.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). The ICO are the supervisory authority responsible for data protection in the UK.
